STORMING
Moving to second phase, members start knowing each other, their responsibilities and roles, start achieving team objectives,while members of a team felt like less motivated to their goals. As they start to push against boundaries established in forming stage, less interaction producing conflicts unfortunately lead to storming.
FEATURES OF STORMING AND HUMAN BEHAVIOR
- Members feel less polite as in forming.
- Members starts arguing with each other.
- Create conflicts related to any task or with their views.
- People getting frustrated from their team member, or from team leader.
- Seeing each others as competitors.
- More disputes can make strained relations.
- Making subgroups.
- Disagreements on plans.
- Start blaming each other.
- Wrong communication style.
- It will effect in future goals of an organisation.
ROLE OF TEAM LEADER
- Handle conflicts
- Members should concentrate on their goals.
- Organize their work.
- Focus on teams competition not on individuals.
- Removing the word 'I' with 'WE'
- Developing task related skills as well as conflict management skills.
- Improving Communication style.
- Offer suggestions to solve problem with each other.
- Redefine the goal
- Clear all issues within team members
- Take impartial decision.
Many steps are taken to solve disputes, over the long haul storm passes away and everyone start focusing on their team objective and goals. (Stein, n.d.) (Human resources, n.d.)
